Hi Irdion,
ReplyDeleteyes the Folkländer LP can only be the one posted by me. (....)
Enjoy , it's a magic LP! :-)
Your Countess
Hi Vanessa,
ReplyDeletethank you very much for your efford, but I'm really sorry to bother you again. Though it's great I can listen to these Songs now, I'm missing a lot of titles - there are only 13 mp3s in the archive, but on the LP were 21. Do you have the others too?
Thank you and happy summer to you too
Irdion :)
Hello again dear Irdion :-)
ReplyDeleteListen, the albums comes from my collection, as you can see in the photograph. So, of course I have all of them, unless you talk about a possible CD reissue which contains some bonus tracks not present on the original LP...
Years ago, I scanned this album for myself and I burned it on a CD. So, today, I simply did the scan of the CD and I have put it online for the world of folk lovers on the "Countess Vanessa" blog, in MP3 format, nothing else.
As far as I know, the album that you have received from me, should be complete,
I don't understand why they result 13 tracks to me while you reckon them as 21...
I can't imagine any other possibility except, maybe, this one: that I - because of my classic lazyness!!! - didn't take time enough to check each title of each song, so probably I have cut the album file in a number of pieces which are less than the real number.
Another question: do you also have the vinyl album? Maybe it could be that some songs are named separatedly but they actually are a medley.... For example, you know Fairport's Liege and Lief album? Good, there is "The lark in the morning / Rakish paddy / Foxhunters' jig...", etc, but the BAND on the vinyl is only a single one. So, one title instead of four.
Anyway, in this period I am not at home (as I wrote in my opening pages on the blogs), so I don't have the vinyl LP by me, but of course, I am curious to understand what happens, therefore as soon as I am back to my... Castle, I will go to check the album, and then I will see what really happened.
So now, if you have the vinyl album and you notice that I have inserted less songs than the original real number, please forgive me, it must have been a problem of uploading the file on the server. It happened - leider - to me already 3 or 4 times, and this is a typical problem of the uploading process :-((
Otherwise, if it's only a matter of the "quantity" of the titles, probably some of them are merged into others and they form a medley, that's why I have cut simply each "band", not song-by-song.
Tell me about it, I am interested! :-)
Happy time, hugs from your Countess

ReplyDeleteHi again,
at first i'd like to ask you for the languages you know - I hope that we don't write English the whole time, while we're both able to speak German ;)
I don't have the LP here, but my Mother has it, I'll ask her. I guess I was confused because here you find 21 Tracks: http://musik.ciao.de/Wenn_Man_Fragt_Folklander__1484912
and here too: http://www.amazon.de/Wenn-Man-Fragt-Folkl%C3%A4nder/dp/B00002DFF4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1279391351&sr=8-1
But as it seems there is a re-release on CD, with more tracks - that I actually don't know if I remind the LP ;)
So - sorry about bothering you ^^
Thanks so much again and happy time to you too
Irdion
Dear Irdion,
ReplyDeleteit's absolutely no problem at all, it's always interesting to compare original editions and new expanded ones! Therefore, thank you for signalizing me those links! :-)
We can finally conclude that what you talked about is a CD reprint, seems even to be on 2 CD pack. As I said, I "only" have the vinyl album, so, I guess there are "only" 13 songs instead of the 21 listed in internet. Anyway,as soon as I'm back home I'll give a look to the album to see if there are some medleys, or whatever. For the moment, have fun and good listening! :-)

Hello Kalinin
ReplyDeleteOf course, you'll get the PW by email, but please, don't forget that I have the vinyl album scanned here, and that in Internet - as you can see explained in the emails of our friend Irdion - there's a new remastered edition available, including eight bonus tracks :-)
cheers, your Countess V.
Thank you! Listening to it right now. "Ballade von den Seeraeubern" gives me goosebumps.
ReplyDeleteI believe the CD you mention is here:
http://www.loewenzahn-verlag.com/Seiten/bierfiedler.html
Unfortunately they do not take credit cards and do not ship internationally. Quite difficult to get...

As promised, I did a foto of the back cover and posted on the entry, for Irdion and for all the other people who find themselves in the maze about how many are the real tracks of the vinyl album. They were 14, as it is visible. So now the enigma is solved :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks again to Kalinin for his kindness and his precise infos :-))
