I went to Australia about ten years ago, for a three month work, and I toured some huge cities where I did forays and SHAMBLES in tens and tens of shops of 2nd hand records, I literally hammered my claws inside ANY record of people that I never heard the names of before, I bought and discovered GRANDIOS musicians like Bloodwood, Lyn & Graham McCarthy, Eric Bogle, Gordon Bok, Johnny Ashcroft, Isabel Margrett, Gary Shearston (but his first worx, not "Dingo"!), Redgum, etc etc ), and I came back with so many LPs, that I saw no other chance than sending them aside, in two huge hard case containers. This LP was one of them. Alex Hood is a celebrated and great folksinger. The songs on the album make the soundtrack to a film titled, again, "The Wallaby Track", which I never managed to find around... Out of the songs, "Flash Jack from Gundagai" was one of those opening my blogs, some months ago. Very good LP!
